Abstract
The usefulness of rigorous coupled wave theory in the analysis of induced t ransmission and reflection grating formation, wave mixing, and higher order generation is demonstrated. No approximations are made, exact photorefract ive material equations are used, and optical and electrical anisotropies ar e included. Several new effects, such as time oscillation, higher order gen eration, etc., are predicted.
