Experiments were carried out on metathesis of hexene-1 at room temperature
in the stationary system in presence of the WOCl4/Al2O3,-SiO2/ /R11M cataly
tic system (R-ethyl, M-Al, or R-butyl, M-Sn). It has been stated that react
ion is accompanied by isomerisation of the unsaturated bond location and by
cometathesis of olefins formed in the process. Yield of particular reactio
ns depended on the support composition and kind of metalalkyl compound used
. In the tested systems, centers of catalytic methathesis are formed on alu
minosilicate and silicate surfaces and isomerisation centers only on alumin
osilicate ones. Catalyst activated with triethylaluminum are less active bu
t more selective then those activated with tetrabutyltin. Experiments with
selected catalysts were also carried out in a flow reactor.
