Abstract
A new series of CoL4(N-3)(2) complexes (L = 4-Et, 4-PhCO and 3-hydroxypyrid ine) has been prepared and characterized and their i.r. and electronic spec tra is reported and discussed. The structure of Co(4-benzoylpyridine)(4)(N- 3)(2), as determined by X-ray crystallography, consists of discrete monomer s molecules with a trans-six-coordinated cobalt(II) environment. The termin al azides are almost linear and asymmetric within the experimental error.
