Jj. Hou et al., The deformation types of active faults in unconsolidated sediments and their implication for recognizing rupture events, Z GEOMORPH, 43(3), 1999, pp. 383-391
Seismic rupture produced by active faulting made ground surface fracturing
and buildings seriously destroying. However, the fracturing traces are usua
lly indistinct or invisible because of complicated deformations in Quaterna
ry unconsolidated materials. This paper approaches the deformation types of
active faults in different unconsolidated sediments by the investigation i
n the Weihe basin and Datong Basin, two major basins of the Feiwei graben s
ystem, China.
