Mill and laboratory automation at the Lauffen cement works

After the clinker production had been shut down in 1984 the ZEAG Lauffen ce ment works was restructured in stages to form a modern clinker grinding wor ks. At the end of 1995 ABB was awarded the contract to install a process sy stem (Advant OCS), an automatic laboratory (AutoLab) and an industry-specif ic management information system (CIMS). After a production period of almos t two years it has been established that the objectives of increasing produ ctivity, raising quality and,educing maintenance costs have been, fulfilled .
