Abstract
A novel method in the measurement of left ventricular (LV) area using noncontrast electron beam computed tomography (EBCT) was introduced an d studied as a diagnostic and prognostic marker for coronary artery di sease. Larger LV area measured by noncontrast EBCT was significantly a ssociated with angiographic coronary disease and was a better predicto r of coronary disease events than log calcium score.
