Abstract
The propagation characteristics of a metal-coated planar waveguide with chi ral media filled in the cladding are presented. The effects of chirality on cutoff, dispersion characteristics and field distributions of the waveguid e are studied. The results show that cladding chirality brings phase choppi ng to the transverse electric field component of those modes with odd mode numbers.
