The liquid extrusion process is a new plastic forming technology. It has be
en developed in recent years, and is a means by which a tube, bar or shaped
product can be effectively formed. However, there is some difficulty in re
gulating the process parameters and controlling the forming quality at pres
ent. in this paper, the artificial neural network method has been used for
exploring the prediction of the process parameters. By the use of a three l
ayer BP network as a model, the prediction values coincide well with experi
mental values. Therefore, a new way of optimizing process parameters and en
hancing forming quality has been provided by the authors. (C) 1999 Publishe
