Abstract
Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is regarded as a predominant infectious agent in solid organ transplants. CMV disease has highly protean clinical mani festations. Nevertheless, urinary tract involvement seems to be very r are during CMV infection. We report two cases of renal transplant reci pients in whom ureteral stricture developed in the course of CMV disea se. Histologic data were available or them and were consistent with CM V infection, We discuss previous case reports and propose physiopathol ogic mechanisms.
