Cloth fell control to prevent start-up marks in weaving

The creep of the cloth fell position during a loom stoppage is a primary ca use of start-up marks in fabrics woven on power looms. This creep can be me asured with accuracy by use of a non-contact type sensor. One such method w hich uses a laser-based position sensor is described. Under controlled cond itions, the measurement permits correction of cloth fell position to minimi se start-up marks.
