Abstract
Nanocrystalline PbS was prepared in glycerin with the use of Pb(OAC)(2). 3H (2)O and CS2 as source materials at room temperature. The final product was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern, transmission electron mi croscopy (TEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectrum (XPS). TEM showed the parti cles' size is in the range of 5-25 nm. The chemical mechanism for the forma tion of PbS in this system is discussed. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
