Nickel(II) benzylisopropyldithiocarbamate complexes of the composition [Ni(
bz(i)Prdtc)(2)], [NiCl(bz(i)Prdtc)(PPh3)]. CHCl3 and [NiX(bz(i)Prdtc)(PPh3)
] (X=Cl, Br, I, NCS; bz=C7H7, Pr-i=C3H7, dtc=S2CN-, PPh3 = triphenylphosphi
ne) have been synthesized. The complexes have been characterized by element
al analyses, IR and electronic spectroscopies, thermal analysis, magnetoche
mical and conductivity measurements. A single crystal X-ray analysis of the
[NiCl(bz(i)Prdtc)(PPh3)]. CHCl3, [NiBr(bz(i)Prdtc)(PPh3)] and [NiI(bz(i)Pr
dtc)(PPh3)] confirms four-coordinated nickel in a distorted square-planar a
