Abstract
The authors report an unusual case of sacral osteolytic myxopapillary epend
ymoma treated with curettage and radiotherapy. There is no evidence of recu
rrence 8 years after treatment. A review of the literature is presented on
sacral ependymomas presenting with an osteolytic radiographic appearance (2
4 cases in 18 reports). The differential diagnosis with other sacral neopla
sms is discussed.
