M. Oshaughnessy et al., IN-VITRO PLATELET-AGGREGATION STUDIES IN MICROVASCULAR SURGERY RESEARCH - A METHOD IN THE RAT MODEL, Microsurgery, 17(4), 1996, pp. 238-242
There is now a growing awareness of the central role of platelet funct
ion in microvascular thrombosis. Platelet aggregation studies remain o
ne of the most useful ways of studying platelet function and response
to different stimuli. This brief communication highlights some of the
main variables that can affect platelet aggregation in rats and emphas
izes the existence of important differences in these variables compare
d with human platelet aggregation. (C) 1997 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
