Abstract
A methoxy-functionalized C-3-symmetrical 1,3,5-triaroylbenzene derivative w as prepared by cyclotrimerization of a substituted aryl ethynyl ketone. Thi s material was found to form a stable inclusion complex with benzene in a h ost:guest ratio of 1:1 as revealed by X-ray crystallography.
