Abstract
The rate of the reaction of the lithium enolate of 1-tetralone with arkyl h alides was enhanced greatly in the presence of 3 equivalents of 1,1,4,7,10, 10-hexamethytriethylenetetramine. The ratio of the monoatkylated product to the dialkylated product was found to have increased under a shorter reacti on time. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
