G. Juhasz et al., Possibilities of organizational development in the Hungarian agriculture prior to joining to EU, WORK SCIENCES IN SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE, 1999, pp. 49-54
After socio-economic transition in Hungary agricultural enterprises had to
change in being able to fit themselves into a new context of market economy
indicated by the alterations of the external economic environment. Alterat
ions in the inner and outer environment forced them to change their organiz
ational structure. Necessary changes, however, do not seem to happen sponta
neously, hence it is required to apply and/or hire organizational developme
nt methods and experts.
The system of changes includes a complex pattern of multi-level, multi-late
ral and multi-directional set of adjustments leading the enterprises toward
s turning themselves to real beneficiaries of the targeted changes.
Using organizational development as a process and as a method offers a poss
ibility also for the agricultural enterprises to turn their handling of act
ual changes into a process when and within they can develop both their orga
nizational and human structure in a positive way.
