The chaotic dynamics of Belousov-Zhabotinsky chemical reaction in continuou
s now stirred rank reactor (CSTR) is controlled by two methods: (1) a self-
adaptive delay feedback control scheme; (2) a linear self-interacting contr
ol method. The first control method is a kind of perturbation control and c
an stabilize the BZ-CSTR chemical chaos to its embedded unstable periodic o
rbits (UPO). The advantage of the method is illustrated by the self-adaptiv
e regulation of the system delay time. The second control method can drive
the BZ-CSTR chaotic dynamics to a new status of dynamics which may not be t
he original embedded intrinsic orbits of the chaos. Both methods illustrate
great flexibility and effectiveness in controlling BZ-CSTR chemical chaos.
