Abstract
Communication: Nanotube assemblies constrained to predetermined geometric p atterns form the topic of the research presented here (see also the cover). It is demonstrated that microcontact printing can be used to pattern silic on wafers with catalysts upon which multiwalled carbon nanotubes are select ively grown. The Figure is a scanning electron microscopy image of a surfac e thus patterned with carbon nanotubes.
