New intermediate-band Stroemgren and narrow-band H beta photometry (a total
of six filters) of the unique binary RY Set is reported. The results are i
nterpreted using the light-curve synthesis method based on the model of the
binary that we suggested in our earlier paper. The binary is assumed to co
nsist of a BO-type star that fills its Roche lobe and transfers mass to a h
otter secondary surrounded by a geometrically thick and opaque spheroidal a
ccretion disk. Based on the spectroscopically determined component mass rat
io, q = M-2/M-1 = 3.3, the following binary parameters are inferred: orbita
l inclination i = 85 degrees +/- 2 degrees; the equatorial radius of the ac
cretion disk, a similar to 0.6R(orb) (the disk is strongly flattened with t
he axial ratio of b/a = 0.2); the equatorial (similar to 19000 K) and the p
olar (similar to 43000 K) temperatures of the accretion disk. Our results a
gree well with those of Antokhina and Cherepashchuk (1988) and corroborate
the conclusion that RY Set is now at the stage of the transition into a WR
+ OB system.
