The fundamentals of oxygen delignification in aqueous organic solvents medi
a are presented and the pulping results of different kinds of woods are rev
iewed. The technique of oxygen delignification in organic solvent-water sol
utions is considered as a promising approach for pulp production and for co
mprehensive lignocellulosics refining. Recent advances in oxygen-organosolv
delignification using the oxidative catalysts are presented.
