Using Q-methodology (73 items covering areas of sex, partnership, responsib
ility, faithfulness, and risk) the authors made an effort to identify authe
ntic constructions of sexuality in young people (N = 60). The analysis prov
ided 9 constructions (factors) that are being structurally interpreted and
categorized according to their implicit risk for the sexual health. While i
nterpreting the factors, relations to actual forms of social discourse on s
exuality (Christian, scientific, civic, and HIV/AIDS risk related) are bein
g sought, as well as potential effectiveness of these four particular disco
urses for risk-reduction on sexual behaviour are being extrapolated.
