Photocurrent decaying in time observed in a polyaniline film after its illu
mination with a laser pulse is considered within a three-dimensional model
of conducting polymers. Photons with an energy of 2 eV generate in the film
light-induced charges that remain for some time in traps and are responsib
le for the photocurrent. The data on distribution of the energy depths of t
raps and their population with electrons as functions of the film temperatu
re and time lapsed after illumination are gained. A correlation between the
photocurrent parameters and transformations in polymer is established. Pol
yaniline was used in the form of emeraldin base. Films were deposited from
solutions in formic acid.
