Abstract
A well-performed necropsy can provide useful information to veterinarians a nd pet owners. This article provides an overview of the necropsy examinatio n procedure using an organ system approach, which allows for variation depe nding on the clinical signs seen in the live animal and lesions observed du ring the necropsy. Proper specimen collection for microbiology, cytology, a nd histopathology is emphasized.
