Abstract
Cells can respond to extracellular signals by redistributing transcription regulators between the nucleus and cytosol. Recent findings in budding yeas t indicate that the nuclear transport receptor Msn5p mediates the nuclear e xport of several transcription regulators after their phosphorylation in th e nucleus.
