In this paper, a fuzzy model for distribution system operation is presented
. Uncertainties in loads are modeled as fuzzy numbers. A voltage stability
index for each node of radial distribution networks is also proposed. The c
onditions for voltage collapse to occur are easily derived from this voltag
e stability index. Among the results, one obtains possibility distributions
for substation current, voltage stability index, real and reactive power l
osses, etc. A general discussion on the results, along with the advantages
and disadvantages of the approach, is presented.
