M. Marano et al., Optoelectronic feedback loop for intensity noise suppression in a high bitrate FM-operated Er-Yb laser, ELECTR LETT, 35(21), 1999, pp. 1877-1878
A simple technique, based on a double optoelectronic feedback loop, is prop
osed and demonstrated to suppress intensity noise in high bit rate pulse tr
ains generated by a frequency-modulated Er-Yb:glass laser. Relaxation oscil
lation and frequency detuning noise components are reduced by 18.3 and 33dB
, respectively, achieving residual amplitude fluctuations of < 0.9%.
