Abstract
The effect of whitening the input data in a multilayer perceptron-based dec ision feedback equaliser (DFE) is evaluated. It is shown from computer simu lations that whitening of the received data employing adaptive lattice chan nel equalisation algorithms improves the convergence rate and bit error rat e performances of multilayer perceptron-based DFEs.
