Abstract
Metal/semiconductor/metal (MSM) UV photodetectors have been fabricated on s elf-supported diamond films. Such detectors offer a high UV sensitivity and optimum visible rejection, with very low dark conductivity up to 300 degre es C. It is predicted that hybrid diamond/silicon carbide stacked structure s can provide high-temperature UV sensitivity in the entire 200-450nm spect ral range.
