Abstract
Recently, there was a contribution to this LETTERS by Lieu ct al. concernin g an equivalent circuit approach for microstrip component analysis using th e finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. In this letter, we give a th eoretical explanation for the observed damping of the oscillatory behavior of transmission line parameters extracted from FDTD simulations, In additio n, we extend the approach to full one-port parameter extraction of an arbit rary linear system by single-run FDTD simulation using an appropriate set o f voltage, current, charge, and magnetic flux data.
