Abstract
Different regimes of density convective motions in a rotating fluid from an isolated buoyancy source are considered. It is shown that, along with geos trophic regimes of convection, the regimes of an inclined rotating turbulen t jet and the regime of an anticyclonic rotating cylindrical vortex exist i n water. Different approximations that are used to describe convective moti ons in a rotating fluid in both quasi-geostrophic and other regimes are cla ssified.
