Abstract
Erosion of boiler tubes causes serious operational problems in many pulveri zed coal-fired utility boilers. A new erosion model has been developed in t he present study for the prediction of boiler tube erosion The Lagrangian a pproach is employed to predict the behavior of the particulate phase. The r esults of computational prediction of boiler tube erosion and the various p arameters causing erosion are discussed in this paper Comparison of the num erical predictions for a single tube erosion with experimental data shows v ery good agreement.
