Practical tests in evaluating the processing properties

Variations in quality due to the batchwise production of compounds in the r ubber processing industries requires release testing procedures, However, t he usual used test methods and devices are not able to detect variations in the processing properties regarding the post-processing steps. One approac h to gain a quick evaluation is using an extrusion-rheometer, Beside descri bing the apparatous and measurement procedure, this publication will show r esearch results which allow an assessment of the mentioned assignment. The results prove that additionally to the description of the rheological prope rties an efficient device is developed which is able to evaluate the extrud ability of rubber compounds.
