Abstract
A composite of a nematic liquid single crystal elastomer (LSCE) and a comme rcially available silicon rubber was synthesized. This bi-elastomer was cha racterized by X-ray scattering and thermoelastic measurements. Due to diffe rent thermal expansion coefficients, the composite bends with a temperature dependant curvature, This behavior is reversible and similar to a bimetal.
