The review deals with the results of the studies of several kinetic process
es with the participation of metal atoms (formation, relaxation, ionization
, condensation, and reactions with oxidants). The characteristics of these
processes were obtained using volatile metals compounds and a shock-wave te
chnique, as well as spectral optical, and electrophysical measurements. The
data were interpreted using physicochemical models based on the detailed k
inetic description in a multicomponent reacting mixture using statistical t
heory of monomolecular reactions.
