Abstract
The problems of optimal material orientation are studied in the case of ort hotropic elastic materials. It is assumed that the stress-strain relation ( material behavior) is nonlinear and can be described by a transcendental re lation including a logarithmic function. The orientation of the material is established from the condition that the elastic energy density attains its maximal (or minimal) value.
