Abstract
The preparation and the structural and magnetic characterization of a serie s of sheetlike transition metal polymers of formula [ML2X2] [M = Mn(II), Fe (II), Co(II) and Ni(II); L = pyrazine (pyz) and pyrimidine (pym); X = pseud ohalide anion] are presented herein. The nature of the intralayer magnetic interaction is discussed as a function of the topology of the bridging liga nd. The results show that the spin polarization mechanism can be operative in these systems.
