Abstract
The Allergy Outcome Survey (AOS) is a reliable measure used to monitor pati ents with allergic rhinitis, It was developed for and included in the Outco mes Measures of Immunotherapy in Allergic Rhinitis (OMIAR-1) project, desig ned to study the benefits of immunotherapy in the treatment of allergic rhi nitis, Preliminary results indicate that AOS is specific, brief, reliable, and easy to use. Also, it is useful for evaluating change with therapy and can be used alone as a performance metric or in combination with other meas ures as part of a more complete outcomes monitoring system. As the OMIAR-1 study progresses, more information will be available on the advantages and limitations of the AOS.
