We investigate the relations between the K-l3 and tau-->K pi nu(tau) decays
using the meson dominance approach. First, the experimental branching frac
tions (BF) for Ke(3)(+/-) and K-e3(0) are used to fix two normalization con
stants (isospin invariance is not assumed). Then, the BF of tau(-)-->K*(892
)(-)nu(tau) is calculated in agreement with experiment. We further argue th
at the nonzero value of the slope parameter lambda(0) of the K-mu 3(+/-) an
d K-mu 3(0) form factors f(0)(t) implies the existence of the tau(-) --> K-
0*(1430)(-) nu(tau) detay. We calculate its BF, together with the BF's of t
he K-mu 3(+/-), K-mu 3(0), tau(-) --> K- pi(0)nu(tau), and tau(-) --> (K) o
ver bar(0) pi(-) nu(tau) decays, as a function of the lambda(0) parameter.
At some value of lambda(0), different for charged and neutral kaons, the ca
lculated BF's seem to match existing data and a prediction is obtained for
the tau-->K pi nu decays going through the K-0*(1430)(-) resonance. [S0556-
