Various methods for tritium labeling of biologically active compounds are d iscussed. Recommendations are given aimed at choosing the optimal condition s, on the basis of minimal volume of experimental work, for preparing highl y labeled compounds: fatty acids, alcohols, hydrocarbons, polyethylenediami nes, steroids, phospholipids, gangliosides, toxins, piperidine and pyridine derivatives, drugs, psoralens, epygid, oxazole derivatives, abscisic acid, bombykol, prostaglandins, hepoxilins, tiazofurins, ribavirin, alprazolam, etc.
