Abstract
A split spectrum processing technique using a novel moving bandwidth minimi zation (MBM) method was developed to detect multiple specular targets havin g different spectral characteristics. Mathematical morphology (MM) algorith ms were also implemented in order to compare the results. An experimental a pproach to optimal parameter determination is described. These non-linear f iltering methods are applied to medical in vivo imaging to illustrate specu lar detection and signal to noise ratio (SNR) enhancement. (C) 1999 Elsevie r Science B.V.
