Observations on the output of parasite eggs and larvae by Pyrenean Chamois(Rupicapra p. pyrenaica, Bonaparte, 1845)

We examined throughout a year the faecal output of strongyle eggs and proto strongylid lungworm larvae in the Pyrenean chamois (Rupicapra pyrenaica pyr enaica). The seasonal pattern of egg and larval counts and the species invo lved were similar to other chamois populations of the Pyrenees and only the presence of strongylid,Marshallagia and the dominance of the lungworm Muel lerius appeared to be unique to the surveyed population. Fasciola hepatica was also found.
