Abstract
This study examined the effects of fat- plus sucrose-rich meals on endothel ium-dependent flow-mediated vasodilation in diabetic patients. Flow-mediate d vasodilation in the postprandial state decreased significantly, and the d ecrease correlated inversely with the magnitude of postprandial hyperglycem ia, suggesting that endothelial function in diabetic patients becomes impai red postprandially.
