Abstract
The crack propagation behavior in 2024-T351 Aluminium Alloy under constant amplitude loading has been studied. This study is complemented by crack ope ning load measurements using a compliance technique and by quantitative mic rofractographic observations. The results obtained under constant amplitude fatigue tests show that diffe rent crack propagation stages can be identified. Significant effects due to load ratio changes have been quantified. A method for quantitative analysi s of fatigue surface is proposed.
