Abstract
Amodality is not incompatible with being originally derived from sensory ex perience. The transformation of perceptual symbols into amodal abstractions could take place spontaneously through self-organizing processes such as a utocatalysis. The organizational role played by "simulators" happens implic itly in a neural network, and quite possibly in the brain as well.
