M. Hentschel et al., H-1 and P-31 NMR characterisation of a double breast coil for spectroscopic measurements and imaging, BIOMED TECH, 44(10), 1999, pp. 272-277
For the first time a double turn breast coil has been described which can b
e used for H-1 imaging, H-1 spectroscopy and P-31 Spectroscopy. The paper d
escribes basic technical features of the coil, coil design, B-1 field/excit
ation field distribution for H-1 and (31)p, sensitivity, and feasibility fo
r P-31 spectroscopic in vivo studies. The main advantage of the double freq
uency tuneable coil is that H-1 imaging for tumor localization and P-31 spe
ctroscopy for response control can be done without an additional reposition
ing of the patient.
