Abstract
We present a unique design for a flow cell with a small working volume that allows rapid displacement of media viewed under high power and short worki ng distance objectives. The flow cell has a small internal depth (ca. 0.033 cm) and volume (ca. 0.05 mL) and is easy to handle. Made of Delrin(R), the flow cell is biologically inert. We have used the flow cell for fluorescen ce imaging of PC12 cells loaded with tetramethylrhodamine dextran (TMRD) an d other dyes.
