Zg. Zhou et al., Discovery of dinoflagellates from the Dengshan Group in NE Jiangxi Province and its significance, CHIN SCI B, 44(18), 1999, pp. 1688-1690
From the stratotype section of the Bazhukeng Formation, Dengshan Group (for
merly assigned to the late Proterozoic), situated at Dengshan Village, Zhuj
ia, Yiyang County, Jiangxi Province, three dinoflagellate-bearing horizons
have been found, in which the lower two contain ?Conochitina sp. and Cyatho
chitina sp., while the upper yields ?Conochitina sp. and ?Rhabdochitina sp.
, which testifies that the stratigraphic units concerned belong to the earl
y Paleozoic in age. Such a discovery is significant for re-ascertaining the
age of the '"Banxi Group" in South China, and the tectontc namework and it
s evolution.
