Abstract
The effect of the working memory demands on the peak alpha frequency of the power spectrum of magnetoencephalography (MEG) was investigated. There wer e one control condition and four listening span test (LST) conditions deman ding the use of working memory. The results showed that the peak alpha freq uency of the averaged MEG power shifted to the higher frequency region in t he LST condition dominantly in the fronto-temporal region. Individual diffe rences in working memory capacities were observed in the shift of peak alph a frequency of MEG. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
