Abstract
This case report describes a patient who was previously prescribed alendron ate (Fosamax(R)) and presented with postoperative hypophosphatemia and hypo calcemic tetany after bowel preparation with Fleet(R) Phospho(R)-Soda. This report suggests that patients taking bone metabolism regulators may not be able to respond appropriately to hypocalcemic stressors.
